To make winter safer - Anna Pasek Foundation testing the newest technologies
Anna Pasek Foundation in cooperation with the Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research in Davos as the first institution in Carpathian-Sudeten countries is testing the newest technologies which help to determine locations of avalanche-threatened areas.
Avalanche statistics carried by avalanche rescue and warning services show that each year in massifs of the Sudeten and Carpathian Mountains die few to several people. During a still ongoing winter season 2009/2010 only in Polish Tatra Mountains 8 people were killed. On those territories avalanches also cause significant infrastructural and environmental damages. A lot of avalanches still come as a surprise by occurring in places once considered to be safe.
Cooperation with Italian Alpine School - "Guardia di Finanza"
Between 1-6 March 2010 delegations of Anna Pasek Foundation and the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service (GOPR)- Podhalańska Group took part in a specialist training of avalanche dogs in Passo Rolle organized by the Alpine School Guardia di Finanza in Predazzo (La Scuola Alpina di Predazzo della Guardia di Finanza)
On the 16th September 2009 in Warsaw representatives of the authorities of Anna Pasek Foundation and ESRI Polska signed an agreement of cooperation within Strategic Partnership.
The agreement signed by Paweł Chrustek ? the Foundation?s chairman and Leszek Nowogrodzki- director of ESRI Polska concerns cooperation connected with widely apprehended activity in the area of promotion of GIS (Geographical Information System).
Integrated actions should contribute to more effective activities of the Foundation, not only in context of promoting those technologies within scientific environments, but also in the fields of actions connected with enhancing safety in mountains.
